India's fast-expanding passenger vehicles market is and will keep increasing/doubling each year, which means massive demand for fuel, worsening air pollution and increase in global warming. We are already getting early warning signs from nature on global warming(Ocean warming, sea-level rise and coastal flooding, Glaciers melting, change in climate), with all this its very easy to predict what will be future of our blue planet.

With all this things keeping in mind its good to know that Mumbai Traffic Police new initiative believes that community activities will play vital role in saving blue planet. This initiative can help in reducing traffic congestion and also save a lot on overall fuel consumption of India and saves the environment.  CarPooling may not be new but for Mumbai  its a new idea to explore and its success really depends on no of people participates in this initiative.

Carpooling is a shared use of a private car, in particular for commuting to and from work and other purposes, often by car owners (drivers) and people (passengers) traveling to the same destination by other means of transport. There are often times when car owners have empty seats in their car because they don’t know of anyone who needs a lift. This can, be avoided by using our carpool network where one-to-one matching is done automatically.
