Day of ADO.NET

A full day course.

ADO.NET is Microsoft's new paradigm for supplying universal data access. ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) enables your client applications to access and manipulate data from a database server through an OLE DB provider. ADO supports key features for building client/server and Web-based applications. You've probably heard, "In the .NET world, if you need data access, just use ADO.NET". Is.ADO.NET, just a maturation of ADO? Hardly. ADO.NET is a completely different paradigm in data access and manipulation. Understanding then to use this new disconnected model or the higher performing connected model is the challenge of ADO.NET. Whether you are new to database development or are an old ADO user, you will need to understand why ADO.NET was written.

Topics:

  • Why ADO.NET
  • Connecting to databases through ADO.NET
  • Using Command objects
  • Using the DataReader
  • Constructing DataSets
  • Using DataSets
  • Using Typed DataSets
  • Data binding
  • Optimizing performance and scalability

ADO.NET In Action

A Two Hour Course

After understanding the in's and out's of ADO.NET, putting that knowledge to the task is the job of this course.  It covers the following topics:

  • Windows Forms DataBinding
  • ASP.NET DataBinding
  • Using XML and ADO.NET
  • Better Typed DataSets

ADO.NET Best Practices

A Two Hour Course

As the newness of .NET wears off, application developers must move past the “how to” of data access development and start considering the best ways to get things done. In this session, we’ll do just that, starting with an intelligent approach to the DataSet vs. DataReader question followed by discussion of more specialized issues like connection pooling, transactions, handling multiple result sets, and the finer points of typed datasets.

ASP.NET Training helped me in understanding basics in ASP.net.But being a beginner in IT industry,I could not follow each and everything. Also I recommend that some notes should have been provided so that it could help to review what You have understood in the lectures.

Jignesh has got an awsome teaching style & I will recommend him to everyone but myself being a beginner in .net felt tht there shud have been course material or printed notes. No matter what the training helpmed in better understanding of .net

A very good class to learn Dot Net. I don't think that any other class would have taught me so much in such a short period. Was overall happy with the course. Regarding the notes, they are not that important as lots of .NET material is available on the Internet these days.
